It’s that time of year – the countdown until the Christmas break is on, the marking is piling up, and you find yourself running on the fumes from the energy you brought to the start of the school year way back in September.
Teachers extend themselves past their personal thresholds and are left waiting for the holiday breaks to fill up their reserve again. Often times they reach that point of peace and rest just in time for classes to resume. I invite you to come experience a BodyTalk session that will renew and recharge your body-mind. BodyTalk is Whole Healthcare – it honors the physical, spiritual, mental, and emotional body. And, all that is required is that you simply show up and breathe. You have given your love and energy to my kids and the children of our community. I would like to give you the opportunity to reset; to give back to yourself in a lasting way. Book your pre-holiday BodyTalk Session and let's see if you will find that restoration before it’s time to head back into the classroom.

This poem captures the heart of what it means to allow oneself to rest. As you read this poem, I invite you to allow the words to wash over you, to allow the opportunity to breathe, to allow the bodymind to settle and speak to the parts that are crying out for just a moment of rest. The author of this poem. is Justin Harrison - a poet that is, that was, and that will continue to be. Rest eyes, you that take in the torrent of visual stimuli, digital data by the draught. I feel your strain, your flitting tennis match observations. Rest eyes Feel the support of my thumbs as, through closed, heavy lids, they wipe away the laden excess of what you’ve been asked to (endlessly) observe. Rest lips, from the burden of saying the right thing, of finding the words to speak. You, the gatekeepers of the precious inner world, tasked with speaking a thousand amorphous intricacies at once. Let your pursed, alert guardsmen relax into the weightless sweet of just this moment. Rest ears, from swallowing the monotony, the unending stream of sound, into your deep caverns. May the buzz and blip and blight fade and wane as you tune into the stillness that is just here. Rest all, parts and systems, dynamic and synchronous. Let your ceaseless striving be carried in the ocean of what is. You are here and that is all that need be. So, rest. This is a great poem to read before or after a BodyTalk session or really any time your needing help to find that deep rest and appreciation for all our bodymind does for us throughout the day.
